New Delhi: The Subject Expert Committee (SEC) of India’s drug controller has recommended allowing Dr Reddy’s Laboratories to conduct phase 3 trials of Sputnik Light vaccine for covid-19 as a booster dose, people aware of the development told Mint.
The ministry of external affairs (MEA) today said in view of the developing situation in war-torn Ukraine, the government is “deeply concerned” about Indian students stuck in Sumy area. Arindam Bagchi, MEA Spokesperson, said the government has strongly pressed Russian and Ukrainian governments to create a safe corridor so students could be evacuated.
The PM on Wednesday spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin and discussed the situation in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, where many Indian students were stuck.
An official statement said the two leaders discussed the safe evacuation of the Indians from the conflict areas in Ukraine and reviewed the situation, especially in Kharkiv.
India asked Russia to facilitate the safe passage of Indians from various conflict zones after the killing of an Indian student in shelling in Kharkiv on Tuesday.
